Gleiter (Dr.-Ing. habil.) seit 2012 Professor für Architekturtheorie an der Technischen Universität Berlin, zuvor 2005-12 Professor für Bildsemiotik und Ästhetik an der Freien Universität Bozen. Gastprofessuren an der Waseda University in Tokio, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Brown University in Providence/RI und am Politecnico di Milano. Promotion zum Thema Kritische Theorie des Ornaments und Habilitation zum Thema Friedrich Nietzsche und die Architektur, beides an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Gleiter ist Herausgeber der Reihe ArchitekturDenken (Transcript Verlag Bielefeld). Forschungsschwerpunkte: Kritische Theorie der Nachhaltigkeit, Transformationen des Wissens, Ornamenttheorie, Architekturtheorie, -philosophie und -semiotik.
Jörg H. Gleiter (Dipl.-Ing. habil.), is the head of the department of architectural theory at TU Berlin. From 2005-12 he was professor of semiotics of the image and aesthetics at the Faculty of Arts and Design of Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy). PhD in architectural theory and habilitation in philosophy of architecture, both from Bauhaus-University Weimar. Guest professorships at Venice International University (Italy), Waseda University (Japan), Bauhaus-University Weimar (Germany) and Brown University (USA) and Politecnico di Milano. He is the founder and editor of the book series ArchitekturDenken. Research topics: Critical theory of sustainability, knowledge transformation, ornament theory, architecture theory, architecture philosophy and semiotics.
